3W PR’s Stephen Davies will be joining fellow PR practitioners at a Chartered Institute of Public Relations (CIPR) conference to help educate communication professionals on the importance of reputation management in the online world.

The CIPR Northern Conference held on the 19 September at the Bridgewater Hall Hotel in Manchester this year explores the theme of reputation and includes a range of speakers from varying PR backgrounds.

The conference is hosted by the CIPR North West group this year and is titled Reputation – Managing and maintaining its value in a changing society. Managing director at 3W PR, Davies, will be running two workshops that will address Online Reputation Management.

In an age of globalisation, intrusive journalists, a cynical public and the ability for anyone to break news on a global platform, looking after online reputation has never been as important. Both sessions will provide examples of companies and organisations whose reputations have suffered as a result of negative online coverage and examine how best to monitor social media as well as develop a plan to engage audiences.

Other speakers at the event come from diverse backgrounds and organisations including the not-for-profit, inhouse and agency PR sectors.
